Thanksgiving
December 2nd, 2008
Maybe it's because I'm older, but this Thanksgiving was one of the best spent. Truly thankful for the family I'm surrounded by and the people I was able to share it with this holiday.
I don't remember where I took this photo or when I took it.
Hallway at school before class.
Editing room. We're working on a 5 minute short for the class. They have us editing on Mac Mini's that are slow as molasses. It's kind of shitty.
In Hollywood, I was buying tickets for Amanda Palmer. I'm really looking forward to the show.
180 degrees around.
Part of living in LA is being amazed when there are actually clouds in the sky. I love staring at a sky full of clouds and can't keep myself from taking a picture.
My scanner fails (or maybe it's me) at scanning them, though. I have to edit them fairly heavily to get them looking near how I would print them. Of course, the prints would look 10x better than any scan. :p
The "I don't want you to take a picture of me"-look.
My uncle passed away. Unfortunately, it's events like this that bring a family as large as mine fully together.
The last time I saw all of my cousins, uncles, aunts, and grandparents together was earlier this year when my grandfather passed away. And, before that, I can't recall.
I thought this would make a cool photo. Inside in the hallway, looking outside, reflection of the inside of the hall as well as outside.
And... Gas is under $2.
For reference, this is only 3 months ago:
It was actually raining here.
Cutting the turkey with electro-powered-saw-thing.
Lovely dust, am I right?
My sister and mom have gotten used to me taking pictures of them at random times, so they never look at me and smile unless I say so. I expect that from the rest of my family (in this case my uncle and cousin), but they both stopped what they were doing (finding music to play for dinner) to look at me.
My grandmother.
There was a table for the adults and a table for the "kids." Needless to say there was a lot more laughter at our table compared to the other one.
I love how busy this shot is, and everything that's going on. :)
Posed photo, but I do enjoy the way it looks.
Back to eati-- I mean
We went to the park right next to their house and attempted to throw boomerangs. I failed horribly the first time I tried, it's much harder to do properly than it may seem like.
Right as the sun was going down. And there was clouds in the sky.
Oh, hey, that's me. Taken by my cousin.
The boomerang in the upper right.
One of the boomerangs got stuck in a tree. "Hey, guys, I'm throwing this one back at you."
My cousin and his friend played a song for my grandmother before she headed home.
He said he had written the song 3 days prior.
It got too loud for her. :P She loved it, though.
It was a very good performance.
Cool reflections.
My cousin.
My cousin and her husband.
I found a cat. Surprisingly, he posed for me.
And, a self.
I still have 2 rolls of film to develop. More from my Uncle's funeral. More from the holiday. I'll post them as they are ready. Thanks for viewing.
