I borrowed my friend's Canonet QL17. Put a roll of Efke 25 through it, mainly because I had only one roll of it, have never used it before and was apprehensive about putting that slow of a film in my Leica. The camera had no battery, but everything else seemed in working order and the roll turned out ok.

Surprised this one was in focus.

rgy01854

Burned the rest of the roll at home.

Two spiders.

rgy01871

Crazy flare.

rgy01872

Oh hey, clouds.

Now Tri-x. Project for an art class, had to create an album cover. Also featured is the canonet and an article about Sonic Youth with Thurston making a face (including hands with eyes) quite similar to that of the pale man from Pan's Labyrinth.

For the same art class we had to create a sign and put it up somewhere on campus.

We got puppies. (more to come later)

But first, I went to the griffith observatory because I hadn't been since it reopened.

Not very interesting, unfortunately:

I thought I missed him. A second later he was off the floor.

Ok, more puppies.

He hops when he runs.

They both enjoy laying down at our feet.

Oh, I also got a gecko. Mom's co-worker couldn't take care of it anymore and I said I would. He's cool.

Printed this one on fiber, but not entirely happy with the print.

My messy desk (featuring sleeping gecko).

I watched Grizzly Man. After seeing Encounters at the End of the World I wanted to see more by Mr. Herzog and this one seemed like a good choice. Turns out it was, a very well done documentary on a fascinating person.

Joys of living in southern california?

rgy01937

My grandmother in the house she raised her children in. I underexposed it because I'm stupid.

rgy01938

Must be something to revisit the house you grew up in, or raised your children in..

I thought taking another photography class would help further and advance my photography, but it seems like it's stunted it instead.

The majority of what I've shot this year, thus far, has been extremely personal. Or, in other words, probably wouldn't hold much meaning for anyone but me and a small select group of people.

rgy01715

Maybe when I'm dead all these unposted photos, the ones I don't share, will be uncovered and viewed. Or maybe they'll be lost forever and no one will ever see them. Who knows.

rgy01739

For an art class called 2D design. My sundays are usually spent working on the next project, which, although the semester is almost halfway over, always includes cutting and pasting. Just like in kindergarten.

rgy01740

Trying out a double exposure for the second time. This time I managed to rewind the film the correct amount so that the frames overlap correctly BUT I completely forgot that there was no way I was going to be able to line the camera back up where it was for the first shot. Next time I'll have to remind myself to use a tripod. Or something. Or not do double exposures. Think that might be the better path.

rgy01758

I went to Venice (Beach, wish I meant Italy, though) and found this street performer who stands in glass. He called the lady on the left Japan.

rgy01760

The expressions of the people watching make this for me.

rgy01765

People sleeping, during the day, outside, near the ocean. I feel like I should feel bad for what is probably a homeless person, but I'm not. Instead, I'm jealous. Would it not be nice to be free of the majority of our worries?

rgy01766

There were statues of dogs along this house. And then this dog. And my shadow somehow found its way into the frame as well.

rgy01769

rgy01772

I'll avoid any phallic joke about trees growing out of places.

rgy01773

I think there's something wrong with my Leica, not sure what's going on on the far right of the frame here, and I've seen the same on several other frames.
