Tired of printing…

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

I've been printing for the past few weeks. I've been making 11x14's of a series of images, I have 8 printed so far, just 4 more to go. Then I'm going to be make several mural prints; probably a couple 30x40's and one 40x60.

But I miss shooting, I've slowed down too much recently.

On a random note, I'm loving Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh by Bright Eyes.

I shot a roll of Ektachrome with a Canonet. Pushed it one stop and cross processed it, not really happy with how it came out, but a few shots were ok.

I'm also tired of making street shots at school, it bores me to death.

RGY03157

This was at karaoke a few weeks back...

RGY03170

During a crit at school. No bad comments for this class.

RGY03171

There is a cat in my sink.

RGY03178

Should be self-explanatory:

RGY03179

At school, again, boring.

RGY03181

I organized, hung, and exhibited in a gallery at school. The theme of the exhibition was Home. This is when the lighting was being changed.

No one was hurt, thankfully. :P

Then, this was in Montrose.

RGY03186

I'm in both (^ that one) and the one below. My mom's the one behind me.

RGY03187

The restaurant had a nice feel to it. Lot of older people, but older people are the ones whose faces tell stories, so it's all good.

RGY03188

RGY03189

The sculpture thing was neat. Wish the lighting was better, but I still enjoy this shot.

RGY03191

School. is so boring. I guess this is about a palm tree? Can't exactly escape them in so cal..

RGY03192

Dishes, primarily coffee mugs.

RGY03193

I shot this because I was already getting bored and wanted to shoot something. It was f/1.4 at 1/1000th. I knew the negative would be dense, but I doubt it's worth it to try and print it.

RGY03194

The light leaked over into the next frame:

And, that's all. I'm almost finished with this roll in my camera.

Starting with a new roll. When I took this I thought I had advanced enough. I'm not sure what happened, but apparently part of this frame saw light.

Manone visited our campus. There was a lecture and a demonstration. It was interesting.

RGY03088

I only documented the demonstration part, the small lecture hall was way overcrowded and I didn't stay for much of that.

RGY03090

Explaining different caps.

RGY03091

Demonstrating.

RGY03092

RGY03093

RGY03094

Everyone was allowed to try it. Suppose the only difference was that this was done on butcher paper, rather than the actual wall.

RGY03095

After the demo, I was walking back to the darkroom, which is just to the left of this scene. I saw all these people standing in front of the wall, thought it was the weirdest thing ever so I had to take a shot.

RGY03096

Turns out it was a drawing class (found out when I passed the doors to the darkroom, noticed more clearly that they were all drawing the vines).

I "reorganized" the lost negatives.

RGY03097

Not quite right? Printing color can be frustrating.

RGY03098

When I took this, he didn't think I caught him in frame.

RGY03099

At Coffee Bean (not Starbucks).

RGY03100

Light was oddly good here.

RGY03101

Commissioned. Such a small car.

Echoing each other.

RGY03107

They repaved a part of the street I take to get to school. It was only like this for one night. I stopped that night and took a few frames. The dust kicked up mixed with the headlights of cars made it look interesting. I'm not sure why but my panning shot looks odd. I would have expected it to be more smooth.

That's all for now. I cross processed a roll of Ektachrome 100G and pushed it a stop. The results were ok, I'll post them in the next entry!

Thanks for reading, those that do.

Finished and moved to New York.

RGY03055

But I'm still here, spending way too many hours on campus.
