    I take photos.

I started around 2002 with a Sony point and shoot. I knew nothing of the technical aspects of photography yet and counted on my camera to work correctly to create the image I wanted.

Five years later, I had to take a photography class. It was required that we shoot film and it was to be in black and white, no exceptions. I learned to develop and print my own work and completely fell in love with the process and the results I could achieve.

Severin Koller has been a major influence in what I have decided to buy (an M6) the film I shoot (Tri-x) and what I develop my film in (XTOL). I'm quite the copycat, but it works.

He recently released his own website and this quote of his I think sums my passion up very nicely.

"I hold everyone in respect who captures fragments of their world solely to share it with others."

    It's as simple as that.

I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

My portfolio site can be found at rickyribe.com if you're interested.

If you're wondering where the name anything applies came from. Well, it was inspired by the band/artist Not Applicable. I first discovered her from the now defunct art site sevenflow (which was an uber cool flash site, link goes to his DA page) which had her song, Convergence, as the background music. I was instantly grabbed by it and had to find out who it was. Turns out it was Courtnee Papastathis, an amazing person.

Recalling the above from memory, happened over 6 years ago. I think I have all the names/links correct, but if you happen to read this and know that something is wrong, let me know!
