This is Shalamar, she's an amazing person.
Guess I'll give this a try, possibly posting less, maybe not living up to that. Dunno. These were from the exhibition the photo club at my school put on towards the beginning of the semester (just to give you an idea about how far behind I am).
It was called Home. This is Jim and Lesley.
I didn't shoot coverage of the closing reception as I feel I should have. There were tons of things going on and many things going through my head so I'm sort of surprised I have what I did shoot.
Here are some flies.
Shot this scene again later in color, think that frame is much better than this bw version.
Ortho-lith film.
This sculpture appeared on campus early in the semester. I now know it was done by Mylan Chacon and the title of it is Bird's Nest. Didn't know that until just a few weeks ago. Gave Mylan a print of this shot..
Tuyen.
Maggie.
It actually rained earlier this year... My M6 got quite wet.
I was out behind our darkroom eating lunch (without my camera with me) and there was someone standing framed perfectly by the entrance to the ceramics place. He was there for quite some time. I finished eating and returned, but he was gone. I took the shot regardless, though it would have been much better if he was there.

I guess I should update this?
November 24th, 2009
If you've been wondering why I haven't updated this (and I doubt anyone really has) well..
I'm not sure I want to post tons of images on a blog anymore.
I've been working on creating a more concise and edited portfolio of images. So I redid my site (http://rickyribe.com) to reflect this.
I have three series thus far, all of which I'm super happy with. I'm making 40x60 and 30x40 prints (traditional black and white, not digital output) of a selection from Sole. I've also made a mural print of a shot from Carnaval. Lots of work, lots of progress.
Anywho, that's where I'm at. I might post a more edited selection of shots I've done over the past month or so.

Tired of printing…
October 15th, 2009
I've been printing for the past few weeks. I've been making 11x14's of a series of images, I have 8 printed so far, just 4 more to go. Then I'm going to be make several mural prints; probably a couple 30x40's and one 40x60.
But I miss shooting, I've slowed down too much recently.
On a random note, I'm loving Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh by Bright Eyes.
I shot a roll of Ektachrome with a Canonet. Pushed it one stop and cross processed it, not really happy with how it came out, but a few shots were ok.
I'm also tired of making street shots at school, it bores me to death.
This was at karaoke a few weeks back...
During a crit at school. No bad comments for this class.
There is a cat in my sink.
Should be self-explanatory:
At school, again, boring.
I organized, hung, and exhibited in a gallery at school. The theme of the exhibition was Home. This is when the lighting was being changed.
No one was hurt, thankfully. :P
Then, this was in Montrose.
I'm in both (^ that one) and the one below. My mom's the one behind me.
The restaurant had a nice feel to it. Lot of older people, but older people are the ones whose faces tell stories, so it's all good.
The sculpture thing was neat. Wish the lighting was better, but I still enjoy this shot.
School. is so boring. I guess this is about a palm tree? Can't exactly escape them in so cal..
Dishes, primarily coffee mugs.
I shot this because I was already getting bored and wanted to shoot something. It was f/1.4 at 1/1000th. I knew the negative would be dense, but I doubt it's worth it to try and print it.
The light leaked over into the next frame:
And, that's all. I'm almost finished with this roll in my camera.
